Røste Hyttetun & Camping is located just 11 km from Røros.
There are many great activities to enjoy in spring, summer and autumn with Røste Hyttetun & Camping as your base. We are located just 200 meters from the Glåma River and 500 meters from the Nøra River – both popular fishing rivers.
Forest roads and trails start right from the campsite, making them ideal for both hiking and cycling in peaceful, scenic surroundings.
If you’d like to go swimming, Langtjønna is about 5.5 km from the campsite. You can reach it either via a forest road directly from the campsite or from the main road.
In winter, groomed cross-country ski trails start right from the area and connect to the local trail network, giving you access to many kilometers of prepared ski tracks with the starting point right by the campsite.

Fishing
From the campsite, it is approximately 200 metres to the Glomma River, 500 metres to the Nøra River, and about 5 km to Vangrøfta (also known as Skrukka by many anglers). All of them are excellent fishing rivers.
We sell fishing permits for the Glomma, Nøra, and the lower part of Vangrøfta at the reception.

Røros Aplinsenter
For those who prefer alpine skiing or snowboarding, Røros Alpine Centre is located just 4 km from the campsite. There are also groomed cross-country ski trails, including a floodlit trail.

Høsenfjellhytta
The campsite is an excellent starting point for ski trips in winter. You can put on your skis right outside the cabin. Høsenfjellhytta is located 2.5 km from the campsite and makes a great destination for a ski tour.

Trollkroa
Trollkroa Restaurant serves everything from pizza and pasta to meat and fish dishes, and much more. You can also call to order takeaway.
Vertshuset Røros
Vertshuset Røros has a genuine passion for regional food and culinary traditions. The restaurant is located in the main building of Rammgården and can accommodate up to 50 guests. In surroundings inspired by the 19th-century bourgeois living rooms of Røros, we offer 3- and 6-course menus, crafted using the best seasonal ingredients. These menus change every month.
Skanckebua Bar & Restaurant
Skanckebua is a lively and characterful pub with soul and atmosphere, located right in the heart of Røros town centre.

Shopping
There are two regional centres near Røste Hyttetun & Camping: Røros (approx. 11 km) and Tynset (approx. 40 km). Both offer plenty of shopping opportunities for those who are interested.
Domus Røros
Domus Røros is a shopping centre located in the town centre, about 11 km from Røste Hyttetun & Camping.
Kjerkgata and Bergmannsgata
Kjerkgata and Bergmannsgata in Røros are two historic streets with many unique shops.
Alti Tynset
Alti is the largest shopping centre in Tynset, with 20 stores under one roof.

Høsenfjellhytta is open every weekend from January until after Easter, and it is open throughout the Easter holiday.

Hummelfjell is the mountain you see south of Røste Hyttetun & Camping. It is possible to climb it both in summer and winter. More information is available at the reception.
Doktortjønna
Doktortjønna is a spot in Røros town centre offering activities for children and adults of all ages.
Opening hours: 22 June to 11 August.

Oshallen
In Oshallen, you’ll find Aktiviteten gym, a swimming pool, and a youth club. It is located about 1.5 km from us, just across from Trollkroa and The White House of Candles. For opening hours, please visit the link below.
Dog sledding
Husky Point Røros is located in Nørdalen, about 10 km from the campsite. They offer dog sledding experiences both in summer (cart) and in winter (sled).
Tronfjell (the summit)
Tron is a mountain in Alvdal municipality, and its highest peak reaches 1,665 metres above sea level. You can drive, cycle, or hike to the top in summer. The views are fantastic.
Forollhogna
In this area, you’ll find an extensive network of mountain farm roads, perfect for cycling. Old trails and animal tracks lead you directly from the village and summer farms up into the mountains. Here, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
Nørdalen Natur and Kultursti
The trail is beautifully situated in the area around Langtjønna and along the Nøra River in Nørdalen.
Basecamp Os
BaseCamp Os is a volunteer organization that organizes tours and activities throughout Nord-Østerdalen and the Røros region. Some of the activities they offer include trail biking, mountain hiking, and climbing.
Langtjønna
A nice swimming spot located 5 km from Røste Hyttetun & Camping. You can either cycle or walk via the gravel road, or drive there via Fv. 28.
Sled Rides
Røros Kjørelag offers sled rides in the beautiful surroundings of Bergstaden Røros.
Opplevelser
Aukrustsenteret
In addition to visual art, the centre features many of Kjell Aukrust’s imaginative inventions, including a model of Il Tempo Gigante, the car made famous by the film Flåklypa Grand Prix. You’ll also find Aukrust’s characters Solan, Ludvig, and Emanuel Desperados, as well as the editorial office of the newspaper Flåklypa Tidende, complete with sports journalist Melvind Snerken’s desk. In Reodor Felgen’s workshop, there is a chocolate machine where visitors can make their own chocolate.
Smelthytta
At Smelthytta, you’ll find exhibitions related to the history of the Røros Copper Works. The work processes from the mines and smelting huts are presented with moving models, making the history tangible and easy to understand for both children and adults.
Olavsgruva
Join a one-hour guided walk through 300 years of mining history. The tour takes you through Nyberget Mine, which operated in the 1600s, and Olavsgruva, which used more modern methods in the 1900s.
Oddentunet
Oddentunet is a well-preserved, protected farmstead, beautifully situated on its original site in Narjordet, east in Os municipality.
Røros Swimming Facility
The facility is designed for relaxation, with a hot tub, outdoor pool, sauna, and jacuzzi.
Jutulhogget
Jutulhogget is known throughout Europe. It is Northern Europe’s largest gorge, stretching 2.4 km in length and reaching depths of up to 240 metres.
Rausjødalen Setermeieri
JRausjødalen Setermeieri is both Norway’s and Northern Europe’s oldest cooperative dairy, and Europe’s first communal dairy north of the Alps.
MS Fæmund II
During the summer months, the traditional M/S Fæmund II takes you along Norway’s “inland sea,” Lake Femunden. With an area of 203 km² and a length of 60 km, Femunden is Norway’s second-largest lake.
Bifrost
Bifrost is a shop selling art, crafts, and traditional handicrafts made by local artisans, who also run the store on a voluntary basis. The shop is located on the main street in town.
Funäsdalen
Funäsdalen in Sweden is 87 km from Røste Hyttetun & Camping, or about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car.
FunäsGondolen
The gondola takes you straight to the top of Funäsdalsberget, where you can enjoy a stunning view over Funäsdalen and the surrounding area.
Via Ferreta
If you’re looking for a bit more adventure, you can take the climbing route to the top of Funäsdalsberget.
Toppstugan
Enjoy the stunning views and delicious food at the top of Funäsfjällen, whether you’ve climbed up or taken the gondola.
