Røste Hyttetun & Camping is conveniently located if you want to visit Røros with your motorhome. With only an 11-minute drive from our campsite to Røros, you’ll enjoy both proximity to the historic mining town and the freedom to explore everything our surroundings have to offer.

We have a dedicated area with 12 pitches designed for motorhomes and smaller caravans. The pitches are gravelled with grass beside them, and we also provide electrical hookups for each pitch. Read more about our campsite near Røros.

Røste Hyttetun & Camping is located in Os municipality, just 11 km from Røros town center.
If you drive north on County Road 30 (fv. 30) from Os to Røros, you’ll see us on the right side of the road. The campsite is also signposted.

Røros has a long history of mining, dating back to the mid-1600s. You can still see traces of this history today when visiting Røros, with its old, dignified wooden buildings and the large slag heaps towering over the town.

Tips for a motorhome holiday

Check that you have everything you need. Have you remembered to bring all the essentials for the kitchen? Start a checklist well in advance of your trip.
Pack as lightly as possible. Keep an eye on the total weight, and remember that you rarely need everything you bring.
Pack what you need directly into the motorhome. Instead of filling suitcases or bags, put your essentials straight into drawers and cupboards.
Don’t forget the grill. It’s a good idea to bring a barbecue, whether it’s a small disposable one or a larger type. Don’t forget the grilling tools as well.
Entertainment. If it happens to rain one day, it’s nice to have something to do indoors. Cards, board games, an iPad, and similar items come in handy on such days.
Bring storage boxes. Storage boxes are always useful for leftovers or anything else you might want to store.
Check your motorhome. Make sure it’s working properly, especially if it has been parked since last summer. This also applies to the interior of the motorhome.
Bring a long extension cord. At some pitches, it can be a bit far from a power post or other connection point. Be sure to bring a long extension cord.

Motorhome holiday in Norway

Surrounded by scenic mountains that aren’t too steep, the area offers calm and enjoyable hiking opportunities.
